Dear Mom,
This week has been pretty good with the transfer and new comp.
Wednesday, we visited investigators and a few members for Elder Christensen to say goodbye.
Thursday, we had to be at the church at 8 and we got everything loaded up for those who were leaving and said bye to them and got pics and then they left. Those of us who were left went to Cracker Barrel to eat breakfast and we had a few youth with us as well which was fun. Then I was with some other Elders and we all went to the ZL's pad and played some Monopoly Deal while we waited for the other transfer van to arrive. Then later we helped get the new luggage of the van and as we were doing so it started to rain real hard and a lot of us got soaked. After a while of making sure everyone had everything and stuff, my new companion and I drove home. He unpacked and then we went and taught one of our investigators. We then had dinner with the Valenzuelas that night which was really good.
Friday, we did studies and I did some of the stewardship calls I had to do for the members in my district, as I am still District Leader. We had lunch and then we did our weekly planning. We then went tracting a bit and it was pretty hot outside. We found one person who said we could come back but no one else answered us. Then we went to Tanner's house and had dinner with him and his cousins and Aunt and they are so awesome! I love spending time with them :) We then went to go try and visit a bunch of people and we were actually able to fill our whole next day with appointments which was awesome!
Saturday we did studies and I did more stewardship calls and then we went to the Library to do some stuff on the computers we were told to do. We came back and had lunch, we made chicken Alfredo and it was pretty good. Then we went to our appointments. The first one was just outside by the dudes car and it was really hot so we taught him out there for quite a while and we sweat a lot haha. . .Then the other appointments we had didn't go through, most weren't there, and one had to take her daughter to the ER for strep throat. While we were trying one though we found a new investigator. We talked to her and ended up teaching the Restoration and prayed with her and it was really good timing. Then that night we went to the church for a member's daughter's baptism and food and stuff afterward and we had an investigator come which was great!!! It was fun and our investigator enjoyed it.
Sunday we went to the Hburg Sacrament meeting and we didn't have any investigators there. Then we had branch council and then we had branch and none of our investigators came to branch either. We had a District challenge which was Mission wide and our District came in second! It was so close! After church we tried to visit multiple people and we ended up having a lesson outside in a rundown apartment complex for like an hour and a half with this one dude. He talked a lot and it was hard to wrap up. It had rained while we were in church so it was super humid after the storm and pretty hot still so we sweat a ton while standing there.
Then today we did some cleaning in the morning and played basketball a little later because the ZL's wanted us all to focus on making sure our apartments are clean this transfer. During basketball I collided heads pretty hardcore with another Elder and it was right on my ear. It hurt really bad and my ear swelled up a bit and a bit of blood filled part of it. I think I'm fine, a bit of a headache still but nothing else. It was a good day of basketball though.
This next week will be the start of a new mission and it is exciting but a little scary because there could be lots of change! Hopefully it all goes well. Until next week!
Love,
Elder Acton
